38. A Quarter of the power of Krakatoa

X is the nickname for the AN602 hydrogen bomb, the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. Developed by the Soviet Union, the bomb was initially designed to have a yield of 100 megatons of TNT, but which was reduced to 50 megatons to avoid a nuclear fallout. Only one bomb was ever built and tested successfully on October 30, 1961, generating a 64km high mushroom cloud and causing complete destruction within a 55km radius. The heat generated could have caused third-degree burns at a distance of 100km, and shockwaves were experienced at distances of 700km. The red circle in the photograph shoes the region of complete destruction, and the yellow circle the area of the fireball, with Paris for an example.

X was also known as Y, a phrase popularized by Z's speech, addressing Richard Nixon in 1959 who was attending an exhibition in Moscow.
Give X, Y and Z.

37.

X was an American expatriate poet and critic and a major figure in the early modernist movement in poetry. His best known works include Ripostes, Hugh Selwyn Mauberley, and his unfinished 120-section epic The Cantos, published over five decades from 1917 to 1969. Of him Ernest Hemingway wrote:
"He defends [his friends] when they are attacked, he gets them into magazines and out of jail. He loans them money. ... He writes articles about them. He introduces them to wealthy women. He gets publishers to take their books. He sits up all night with them when they claim to be dying ... he advances them hospital expenses and dissuades them from suicide."

X is the person second from left. X? Also brownie points for identifying the other 3 greats.

X was an American high school gym teacher, basketball coach, realtor and bar owner from Jacksonville, Florida. He gained huge popularity in 1970s. 26. Ford Anglia? Might be..

Which concept do these 2 cartoons depict?

Answer : Depicts the concept of Hammerspace - the imaginary extra-dimensional space in cartoons which is supposed to be filled with many objects. Hammerspace is said to exist at the back of every character as they can take stuff like hammers, anvils from their back as per will. Pockets of hammerspace are also found behind structures thin trees, tent-poles etc, behind which characters much wider can hide.

23. Tania, warrior princess, isn't dirty

X was a term coined after the Korean War to describe the mental states of American PoWs who had spent a long time in Chinese concentration camps. It is supposedly comprised of several elements like assault on identity, isolation, guilt and confession. Y is an American heiress and actress who, at the age of 19, was kidnapped and tortured by the Symbionese Liberation Army and ended up joining them in a bank robbery, for which reason she is said to be one of the most famous victims of Stockholm syndrome, as well as X.

Z, Y's father, was a publishing magnate whose circulation wars involving barely-researched sensationalist reporting with W, who also established a reputed literary award, led to the coining of the term 'yellow journalism'. When J, a 1941 movie directed by K, partially inspired by his life but portraying him in a rather grim light was about to be released, he tried to sue the distributors and stop the film from coming out, but was unsuccessful. Besides being one of the greatest directors ever, K is known for being the narrator of the famous panic-inducing radio broadcast of War of the Worlds.

X, Y, Z, W, J, K?
